Portraits from KC, MO 07/21/09

While I was visiting my family in Kansas City, Able and I celebrated the 4th of July with a cookout at our friend's house. The light was soft in the early evening as I made these portraits. I was drawn to the repeating lines and patterns from the siding on the house and on our friend's clothes. I like the way the black and white film adds a cinematic and timeless feel to these photographs.
